In an effort to help meet the unmet needs of wounded soldiers and war veterans, The Given Limb Foundation is funding a portion of the cost of a study being performed by the VA Puget Sound Health Care System Dept. of Health Services Research and Development.
The “Prosthetic Use Survey” is a national survey which is documenting the use of various prosthetic devices for both upper and lower amputations, as well as asking amputees about how satisfied they are with the various types of prosthetic devices and the medical support they are receiving.
This unique survey is being sent to combat-related wounded warriors from the OIF/OEF conflict and the Vietnam conflict. The results of the survey will be published in a special issue of the “Journal of Rehabilitation Research and Development (JRRD)”, which is available in print and on the internet.
